--Canal Drive Closure & Detour--
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is working on a project to install a sanitary sewer pipeline along Canal Drive between the intersections of Norfolk Southern Railroad and South Military Highway. While excavating in Canal Drive near the Norfolk Southern Railroad, a temporary road closure is needed, and a detour will be put in place to allow local traffic to pass around.

Virtual meeting scheduled via Skype
VIRGINIA BEACH -- In adherence with CDC recommendations of physical distancing to minimize the spread and exposure to COVID-19, the next meeting of the HRSD Commission will be a virtual meeting held via Skype on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
Commission agendas are posted on www.hrsd.com/commission three business days prior to each scheduled meeting.

While installing pipeline across Iowa Street at Canal Drive, a temporary road closure is needed, and a detour will be put in place to allow local traffic to pass through.

Several HRSD pump stations, including the Suffolk Pump Station on Saunders Drive, and the York River Treatment Plant in Seaford experienced sanitary sewer overflows resulting from the significant rainfall received throughout the HRSD service region and the elevated water levels in area waterways brought on by the remnants of Hurricane Sally moving through southeastern Virginia late last week.
